Variety & Challenges
Our independence enables us to offer a challenging and broad curriculum within
the school. This fulfils the requirements of the National Curriculum but extends
far beyond its confines.
The best of both traditional and innovative teaching methods and styles are
employed to provide an academic education of the highest calibre. This is enriched
by the study of Modern Languages, Speech and Drama, Music, Information and
Communication Technology, Swimming and Personal, Social and Health Education.
Specialist members of staff support high-calibre class teachers in the delivery
of these subjects. Moreover, our extended school day gives us the ability to
maximise the learning opportunities and offer a wide range of sporting and
leisure pursuits.
In the early years, all areas of learning and development are carefully planned
by means of structured yet flexible themes. Active learning through play, with
a focus on personal and social education, ensures that our children progress
well. The Foundation Stage curriculum is delivered by qualified Early Years
Teachers and Nursery Nurses.

Our key principles with regard to curriculum are:
- Breadth and Balance
- Depth and Challenge
- Enjoyment and Enthusiasm
- Flexibility to enable rapid response to a changing environment
