Our Hutton nursery is set in 11 acres of beautiful countryside on the outskirts of Preston and benefits from a wide range of fantastic facilities.
All our classrooms have been purpose built, have direct access to the outdoors and feel welcoming and homely. Tiddlers, where our youngest babies are situated, has cots and coracles for sleeping and comfy seating areas for feeding as well as age-appropriate toys and play equipment. The rest of Baby Unit has been designed specifically for our under 2s, with excellent, natural resources and a purpose-built outdoor play area. Our 2-3s area consists of five classrooms with large windows and lots of space for our children to learn and grow. Our focus on natural resources and a child led curriculum continues here with a wide range of resources and a fantastic, large outdoor play area which sparks children’s imagination. In addition to the classroom space our nursery building has a large soft play and indoor adventure area, where all children can explore and develop their gross motor skills in a different environment. Pre-school is situated within the infant building and consists of two bright and spacious classrooms and an Atelier, where children are able to explore many different interests as they prepare to move onto primary school. As well as having direct access to a play area at the back of their classrooms, children in pre-school benefit from a custom built role play ‘village’ at the front of the building consisting of shops, roads, construction site and even a bandstand!
All children in nursery enjoy our all-weather pitch; playing sport and games and taking part in clubs on this custom-designed sports pitch. We also benefit from an adventure playground and large rockery, designed to challenge the children and encourage safe risk-taking, and these are popular with children of all ages. Unique to Ashbridge are our two Forest areas with campfire circle, ‘treehouse’ and large outdoor classroom. Children across the nursery enjoy time in the Forest with qualified practitioners, and truly thrive in this environment. Our kitchen garden is always popular with our nursery children, who enjoy visiting the garden and bringing home seasonal produce all year round. In addition, the children spend time playing on our large orchard and front field, exploring in the meadow and visiting our onsite donkeys, rabbits and guinea pigs.
To make drop off and pick up stress-free for parents we have a large number of parking spaces right outside nursery, with safe paths to the nursery door We also provide storage for car seats should you need to leave a car seat during the day.
The security and safety of our children is always at the forefront of our minds and we have many security features in place across the nursery including coded gates and doors, CCTV, secure perimeters around play areas and much more.
