Career overview: I have been working at Ashbridge since 2016 and in that time I have progressed from Nursery Practitioner to Early Years Teacher. During my time I have also completed a course on Autism as well as completing my Level 3 Forest leader training. I am currently completing training for being the Maths Champion at Lindle Lane.
Professional interests: My interests lie in working with children and encouraging them to reach their full potential. I also have an interest in English and Literacy, as this was my specialism at university, and promoting positive reading and literacy experiences for children both within Ashbridge and also at home.
Personal interests: I come from a family of teachers and I have always wanted to work with children. Outside of work I enjoy spending time in the country, and really enjoy walking.
Sophie Thresh
Early Years Teacher
Career overview: I have been at Ashbridge for 2.5 years. I started in the nursery working with 2-3’s in the December and was asked to become a pre-school teacher for the following year group within the first 6-7 months of working here.
Professional interests: Within the curriculum I am interested in promoting and developing Literacy as I feel that children respond well to familiar stories and by encouraging them to bring in stories from home it engages them well. I also feel you can further develop other areas in the classroom using the books they show interest in.
Personal interests: My personal interests are, swimming, walking in The Lakes and being outdoors, I love to read books in my free time. My son also attends Ashbridge nursery, he always has a smile for the girls and is excited to see them every morning.
