Qualifications: Level 3 Childcare, Level 3 Leadership and ManagementCareer overview: I have worked at Ashbridge for since 2010 starting in the Baby Unit and then working across all ages. I completed my Level 3 Childcare qualification and became a room leader. In 2014 I became a Team Leader and achieved a Level 3 in Leadership and Management before moving into my current role as Curriculum and Practice Manager.Professional interests: I thrive in an environment where children can flourish and reach their full potential. My interests lie within the interactions each member of our team makes with every child and the nurturing bonds and environment we create.Personal interests: When I am not at work I love spending time with my family. I like to keep active playing tennis and taking our 2 dogs on long walks.

Chelsea Mounsey

Curriculum and Practice Manager

Qualifications: Level 3 Childcare

Career overview: I started working at Ashbridge in June 2012 and completed my Level 3 childcare qualficiation, working across all ages. I soon progressed to a Room Leader in the Baby Unit then took over Squirrels for a year. I October 2017 I progressed to Team Leader.

Professional interests: I am passionate about developing maths and literacy areas in our 2-3s rooms and outdoor play across nursery. I focus on engaging the children in focussed activities and tracking progress appropriately to look at ways of improving learning.

Personal interests: When not at work I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I have two dogs which I enjoy walking.

Linda Leigh

Early Years Teacher

Qualifications: BA (Hons) in Primary Education with QTS

Career overview: I have been working at Ashbridge since 2016 and in that time I have progressed from Nursery Practitioner to Early Years Teacher. During my time I have also completed a course on Autism as well as completing my Level 3 Forest leader training. I am currently completing training for being the Maths Champion at Lindle Lane.

Professional interests: My interests lie in working with children and encouraging them to reach their full potential. I also have an interest in English and Literacy, as this was my specialism at university, and promoting positive reading and literacy experiences for children both within Ashbridge and also at home.

Personal interests: I come from a family of teachers and I have always wanted to work with children. Outside of work I enjoy spending time in the country, and really enjoy walking.

Sophie Thresh

Early Years Teacher

Qualifications: BA Hons Primary Education with QTS

Career overview: I have been at Ashbridge for 2.5 years. I started in the nursery working with 2-3’s in the December and was asked to become a pre-school teacher for the following year group within the first 6-7 months of working here.

Professional interests: Within the curriculum I am interested in promoting and developing Literacy as I feel that children respond well to familiar stories and by encouraging them to bring in stories from home it engages them well. I also feel you can further develop other areas in the classroom using the books they show interest in.

Personal interests: My personal interests are, swimming, walking in The Lakes and being outdoors, I love to read books in my free time. My son also attends Ashbridge nursery, he always has a smile for the girls and is excited to see them every morning.

Natalie Pratt

Qualifications: L5 Childhood StudiesCareer overview: My career at Ashbridge started at Lindle Lane where I worked as a Team Leader for a number of years.  After perusing opportunities including Assistant Manager and Nursery Manager at other nurseries, I returned to Ashbridge as soon as the opportunity arose.  I have been Head of Nursery at Ashbridge on Ribble since 2017.Professional interests: I enjoy watching children grow and learn, seeing their faces light up when they’re having lots of fun.Personal interests: In my spare time I enjoy long walks in the countryside with my family, including my son Reuben and mum Andrea who works at Lindle Lane. When I have chance I like to put my Physiology and Anatomy degree to use by massaging family and friends.

Kylie Lower

Forest Leader

Qualifications:  Bachelor of Education (Primary) from Australian Catholic University, QTS, Reading Recovery Teacher, Outstanding Early Years Teacher Status (EYTS),  Level 3 Forest School LeaderCareer Overview: Moving from Australia in 2006, I have made the north of England my home. I moved to London in 2009 to gain my QTS and then settled back in Preston. I have always worked as a teacher in Primary Schools, until I got a job in a nursery where was the Deputy Manager and helped develop the setting into a forest nursery. I saw the enormous educational value of the forest school ethos. This became my passion, and I gained my EYTS whilst working at this nursery. I was the manager for a year, before moving to work here at Ashbridge where I teach forest school to the 2-3 classes and preschool.Professional Interests: I am so passionate about children being free in the forest, risk taking and learning about the natural environment. I love children’s books and early reading, and I include this in my forest school sessions with some beautiful books about trees and saving the planet.Personal Interests:  Having two children keeps me very busy, but I love to play and coach netball. I also love travelling (usually home to Australia) and reading a good book.
