Qualifications:  Bachelor of Education (Primary) from Australian Catholic University, QTS, Reading Recovery Teacher, Outstanding Early Years Teacher Status (EYTS),  Level 3 Forest School Leader

Career Overview: Moving from Australia in 2006, I have made the north of England my home. I moved to London in 2009 to gain my QTS and then settled back in Preston. I have always worked as a teacher in Primary Schools, until I got a job in a nursery where was the Deputy Manager and helped develop the setting into a forest nursery. I saw the enormous educational value of the forest school ethos. This became my passion, and I gained my EYTS whilst working at this nursery. I was the manager for a year, before moving to work here at Ashbridge where I teach forest school to the 2-3 classes and preschool.

Professional Interests: I am so passionate about children being free in the forest, risk taking and learning about the natural environment. I love children’s books and early reading, and I include this in my forest school sessions with some beautiful books about trees and saving the planet.

Personal Interests:  Having two children keeps me very busy, but I love to play and coach netball. I also love travelling (usually home to Australia) and reading a good book.
