At Ashbridge Nursery Hutton, we adopt a whole child approach to early years care and have created a nurturing environment in which children can learn through exploration-led play. We encourage all children in Ashbridge Day Nurseries to develop a strong sense of independence to prepare them for their time in school and we believe this is achieved by developing strong bonds and attachments with our nurturing staff team, who will instil a high level of self esteem in our children.

Career Overview
I have worked at Ashbridge Nursery, Hutton, since June 2011. I started as an apprentice, completing my Level 3 qualification. I gained experience working across all age ranges in the nursery. Once my qualification was finished, I progressed to a Room Leader. In October 2018, I became a Team Leader and progressed to Head of Nursery in February 2023.
Professional and Personal Interests
I am passionate about giving children the best possible start to their early education. Seeing children grow, learn and develop throughout their journey with us. Instilling this into my staff team is crucial. In my spare time, I spend lots of time with my niece. I have a 4-year-old labrador, and I am a massive football fan!

Qualifications
Level 3 in Childcare, Level 3 in Leadership and Management, Level 3 in Health and Social Care
Career Overview
I started at Ashbridge in 2010 after many years of working alongside adults with additional needs. Soon after starting at Ashbridge, I began my NVQ Level 3 in childcare, working in the baby unit. I went on to complete an NVQ Level 3 in Leadership and Management in 2016, which helped me recognise different approaches to learning styles. In 2018, I went on maternity leave and returned in 2019 as a team leader then soon progressed to Nursery Manager. Since 2020, I have been the Curriculum and Practice Manager across the baby unit.
Professional and Personal Interests
I have a passion for children learning and exploring through the awe and wonder of the world, as well as building strong nurturing relationships with their key person. I also love to build relationships with parents and families, supporting each family in transitioning into Ashbridge.
I have two children who I love to spend time with outside of work. Having two boys means we are very active spending most of our time at football, martial arts, or tennis. We also enjoy going for walks, going on holiday to new countries, and staying in for movie nights.

Qualifications
NVQ Level 4
Career Overview
I began my early years career at Ashbridge in 2009. My role progressed to Room Leader, and I qualified as Level 4. I have experience in both the baby classes and the 2-3s classes. In 2016, I had my third child and returned to Ashbridge as a Team Leader to support our Room Leaders and their teams.
Professional and Personal Interests
All three of my children have attended Ashbridge Nursery and School and loved every aspect of their time here. Ashbridge is my family, and I’m looking forward to continuing to develop my knowledge and skills. I am very passionate about early years and, in my opinion, I have the best job in the world.
Outside of work, I love to spend time with my family, often baking and walking our dog, Baxter. I enjoy going to theme parks, concerts and the theatre and I’m a fan of Formula 1!

Career Overview
I have been working at Ashbridge since April 2025. Prior to this, I worked as a Primary School Teacher for around five years in which I gained valuable experience of teaching children aged 4-11. I am passionate about Forest School in early years education, focusing on child-led, outdoor learning that nurtures curiosity, resilience, and holistic development. When not at work, I spend lots of time with my sisters. I enjoy going to the theatre to watch musicals, exploring new brunch spots and spontaneous trips to the Lake District.
