Exploration-Led Learning

Children learn best when they are actively engaged and challenged. For this reason, Ashbridge Day Nurseries adopt an exploration and play-led approach to early years education that allows children the freedom to discover the world around them and be responsible for their own decisions. This also ensures that children attending Ashbridge Day Nurseries enjoy their early years learning, inspiring their future education.

The extensive and unrivalled facilities across our four nursery sites in the Preston area provide children with endless opportunities for exploration, such as our Forest Schools or River School. Here, children are encouraged to learn from the natural world and practise safe risk-taking under the supervision of our qualified, experienced and nurturing practitioners. The experiences and opportunities gained through such activities foster a vital sense of confidence and independence amongst our children.

As early years educators, we wholeheartedly understand our responsibility in assisting children’s social development. As members
of Ashbridge Day Nurseries, our children work collaboratively with their peers, whether through play and exploration or class projects and activities. All classrooms and facilities have been designed to foster collaboration and help develop children’s sense of community.
