The Fledglings
As can be seen across all Ashbridge Day Nurseries, we take a whole child approach to early years education that promotes confidence and independence in our children. Our facilities at The Fledglings allow children to practise safe risk-taking under the supervision of our dedicated and highly qualified practitioners.

52-Week Care
The Fledglings Nursery offers 52-week care for infants from three months to four years old, where children will be nurtured by our highly qualified staff team, have access to our wonderful surroundings and enjoy nutritionally balanced, no-added-sugar meals.

Outdoor Learning
The Fledglings Day Nursery in Bilsborrow offers excellent access to the outdoors. All classrooms have direct outdoor access, and children benefit from outdoor sleeping.

Agricultural Setting
The Fledglings Nursery can be found at the heart of Myerscough Agricultural College. Here children have the opportunity to learn about all the different aspects of the local countryside.

Career Overview
I have been a nursery practitioner since 2015, when I moved to England. I started with Ashbridge in 2021 as room leader then progressed as Deputy Manager alongside Charlotte.
Professional and Personal Interests
In my role as a Deputy Manager, I love creating a trusting relationship with all parents and ensuring a high standard of learning, development, and care for all our children. I also ensure that the nursery is a safe environment for children, staff, and others.
During my spare time, I love sewing, going for walks in the Lake District, and spending as much time as possible outdoors. I also love music, going to gigs, and travelling. I visit my family in Italy every time I can.
Qualifications
NVQ Level 3 Children and Young People’s Workforce
Level 3 Certificate in Forest school programme leadership.
Career Overview
I have worked for Ashbridge since February 2015, originally starting my career at Ashbridge-on-Ribble, where I worked my way from practitioner to room leader. I then transferred over to Maxy Farm upon my return from maternity leave and have recently become Deputy Manager.
I love all aspects of childhood development, but supporting communication and language has to be my favourite. Watching children’s faces light up as they learn to communicate and connect with others is amazing; I love teaching the children Makaton signs, too! I also have a very big love for children’s books and love to encourage children to foster a love for books and reading.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Stuart, two beautiful daughters, Ella and Edie, and our dog, Charlie.
Qualifications
Level 3 National Diploma in children’s play, learning and development.
Career Overview
I have been working in nurseries since 2018, after completing my Level 3 Childcare qualification. I have been at The Fledglings for over three years, going from Nightingales Room Leader, and progressing into my current role as Deputy Manager. I enjoy supporting all staff and children, ensuring every child has a happy and positive experience.
Professional and Personal Interests
I love watching children grow and develop, supporting them throughout their journey at nursery. I am passionate about my role and enjoy supporting all staff members in their individual roles. Outside of work, I enjoy spending quality time with my family and friends. One of my interests is ballroom and Latin dancing, in which I compete and take exams. Most importantly, I aim to ensure that every child is happy and to build strong partnerships with families.

Career Overview
I have worked in early years education since 2000, and I have worked for Ashbridge since 2005. I started as a nursery practitioner and worked my way up to Deputy Manager and then Manager. Since having my second child, I came back to working as a Team Leader in the Baby Unit.
Professional and Personal Interests
I have spent most of my working years working with under twos, which is my passion. I enjoy providing care and nurturing babies.
In my spare time I enjoy spending quality time with my family, going on bike rides, and exploring the outdoors.

The Fledglings is inspected by OFSTED and we are proud to have been judged ‘good’ at our most recent inspection in October 2024 .

Children learn from staff to keep on trying, such as when putting on their own outdoor clothing. They learn to be responsible, persevere and have a go at tricky tasks.”
