Toddler Care

Ashbridge is dedicated to providing exemplary toddler care across our four nursery sites around Preston. Infants in our care benefit from a highly qualified staff team and excellent, purpose built facilities for toddlers that place a heavy emphasis on outdoor learning.

Nursery for Toddlers

At Ashbridge Day Nurseries, children aged one to two and two to three have their own dedicated classrooms with age-appropriate facilities and resources. At this stage of early childhood education, we emphasise toddlers’ social, emotional, verbal, and physical development to provide them with solid foundations for their future education and wellbeing.

Across Ashbridge Independent School and all Ashbridge Day Nurseries, we highly value outdoor education and wholeheartedly believe it is extremely beneficial for all children and early learners. Toddlers attending Ashbridge Day Nurseries will have safe, open access to the outdoors. All classrooms have been purposefully designed to lead outside, allowing children to extend their learning environments when they wish. Toddlers frequently take their naps outside in sheltered areas, broadening their outdoor experiences and allowing them to connect with nature.

The nurturing environment that has been created across all Ashbridge Day Nurseries ensures all toddlers feel safe, secure, happy, and comfortable in the care of our qualified, experienced and nurturing practitioners.

  • Holistic Education

Ashbridge Day Nurseries takes a ‘whole child’ approach to the early years, nurturing every aspect of a child’s development and providing each child with a well-rounded, all-encompassing environment that supports their early years.

  • 52-Week Care

Ashbridge Day Nurseries offer 52-week care for infants from three months to four years old, where children will be nurtured by our highly qualified staff team, have the opportunity to explore our fantastic facilities and enjoy our nutritionally balanced, no-added-sugar meals.

  • Specialist Toddler Rooms

Each Ashbridge Day Nursery has dedicated rooms and staff to care for toddlers between one and three years old. These rooms are purposefully designed and provide a wealth of age-appropriate resources.

“All of the staff are SUPERSTARS! You have all been a friendly face to meet an occasionally grumpy ‘threenager’ first thing in the morning, and help us to feel less guilty about having to leave him and go to work. We know he is in safe, supportive and nurturing hands and loves you all! Thank you!”

“As a parent, I’m delighted with Ashbridge Maxy Farm and Julie’s leadership. Any family members who come to the nursery to pick the kids up have always commented how big but beautiful the nursery is and the resources really are unparalleled! Ashbridge offers such a high-end experience for the kids who attend but deliver it with a personalised touch. You are left in no doubt that each child is important to them and they have taken the time to fully get to know them and support their personal growth.”

FAQs

Learn more about toddler care at Ashbridge Day Nurseries.

Does Ashbridge support during potty training?

We work together with families when children begin to show signs of readiness for potty/toilet training. We ensure this is a positive experience for the child and offer a lot of support, advice, and tips for parents too.

What is your approach to behaviour management?

At Ashbridge, we believe in managing behaviour positively, ensuring children are nurtured and respected. Our staff act as role models, demonstrating empathy and showing children how to build positive relationships. We set all children up for success, using strategies to create a learning environment built on mutual respect, understanding, and clear boundaries as well as age and ability-appropriate expectations. Together, we work with families to achieve the best outcomes
for each child.

How does the nursery promote communication and language?

We offer fun ways to explore communication and language for children of all ages, from babies right through to pre-schoolers. Children engage in songs, rhymes, and stories every day where we use actions, props, and repetition to help children listen to the structure of spoken words and explore new vocabulary.
