Kids around Dogs’ Session 1
Kids around Dogs’ Session 1.
Each class will take part in a lesson to help them learn all about dogs!
The purpose of these sessions is to educate children about being safe around dogs and enable them to have necessary knowledge to be safe when encountering both familiar and unfamiliar dogs. These sessions also aim to empower children with the knowledge to feel more confident around dogs. The lessons will look at what to do when a dog approaches, how to interact with a dog, how a dog communicates and how to respect a dog. The children will also learn how to interact safely with our new School Dog, Cookie, whilst enjoying the many benefits of having her within the school environment.
The sessions will be delivered by Josie Shahabeddin, who is a dog trainer specialising in children and dogs and is an approved Kids Around Dogs (KAD) Professional which enables her to work with children to help them understand how to behave around dogs and keep themselves safe.
