Our skilled and experienced team are integral to the success of Ashbridge Nursery at The Fledglings.  All our Nursery Management Team, Early Years Teachers and Nursery Practitioners are dedicated to providing children with the opportunity to reach their full potential and all members of the team form excellent relationships with the children in their care.  Together with the support of the Senior Leadership Team they ensure that your child receives the best start in life by attending Ashbridge Nursery.

Qualifications: NVQ level 4

Career overview: I have worked in the Early Years since 2006 and have been with Ashbridge for most of this time. I started work as a Nursery Practitioner, before progressing to Deputy Manager and have been Manager of The Fledglings since 2015.

Professional interests: I am very creative so love to involve the children in lots of exciting arts and crafts and messy play activities. I also enjoy exploring the outdoors with the children.

Personal interests: I live with my wife Suely and my two cats, Tilly and Coco. When I am not at work, I love to bake and make cards. I like going to the cinema and out for meals.

Karen Mason

Team Leader

Qualifications: NNEB

Career overview: I have worked in early years education since 2000 and I have worked for Ashbridge since 2005. I started as a Nursery Practitioner and worked my way up to Deputy Manager, then Manager. Since having my second child, I came back to working as a Team Leader in the Baby Unit.

Professional interests: I have spent most of my working years working with under twos, which is my passion. I enjoy providing care and nurture to babies.

Personal interests: In my spare time I enjoy spending quality time with my family, going on bike rides and exploring the outdoors.

Early Years Teacher

Qualifications: Certificate in Education, EYP

Career overview: I have worked at Ashbridge for since 2005 both as a pre-school teacher and, following my EYP qualification spent two years working with babies and two and three year olds.

Professional interests: My professional interests lie in supporting children in their personal, social and emotional development and the development of language skills.

Personal interests: I have a daughter and three young grandchildren. I enjoy pilates, walking and spending time with family. I also like to paint watercolours, do craft activities and enjoy a good book.
