Extra Curricular and Trips

Providing children with the opportunity to develop knowledge and skills beyond the classroom is a key part of our ethos at Ashbridge and we do this by offering a wide variety of extra-curricular clubs and enrichment activities. There are a large number of before and after school clubs available including sports, arts and crafts, music and dance, business enterprise, academic and outdoor activities.  Many of the clubs are included within fees but those which require external teachers are chargeable.  A number of children choose to learn a musical instrument at school and our skilled team of peripatetic teachers offer tuition in piano, violin, drums, keyboard and singing. In the Juniors all children learn keyboard and a brass instrument as part of their curriculum.

Taking children on day tips and residential experiences is also important to us as often the richest learning and development takes place in different environments.  For our younger children many trips help them to learn about the world around them; such as visiting places of worship, the theatre, local places of interest and even day to day activities such as a walk to the post box to post a letter. As the children get older they travel further afield, with visits to Parliament, law courts, Science festivals and historical sites just some of the extra learning opportunities provided.  All children in Juniors attend a residential trip each year, starting with one night away in Year 3, progressing to a week- long adventure in Year 6.
