The TAPESTRY curriculum at Ashbridge Independent School is designed to prioritise our children’s holistic development, ensuring they leave us as confident and well-rounded individuals, ready to take the next step in their education.
Children’s Holistic Development at Ashbridge
Ashbridge Independent School was founded on the conviction that young children thrive with high-quality care and education concerned with the development of the whole person. As educators, we firmly acknowledge our responsibility to provide pupils with a comprehensive and all-encompassing education that is not solely focused on academic performance. For this reason, we introduced our rigorous TAPESTRY curriculum, which heavily emphasises children’s holistic development, ensuring that every pupil leaves Ashbridge as a well-rounded, confident, and thriving individual.
In such formative years, it is crucial that children’s social and emotional development make up a significant part of their teaching and educational experience. Whilst we wholeheartedly value children’s independent learning, Ashbridge pupils are encouraged to work collaboratively with their peers, whether that be during lessons or as part of our thriving house system.
As part of our commitment to pupil voice, we have dedicated systems in place to ensure every child feels heard, supported and represented. Leadership roles, such as school council and house captains, provide opportunities for pupils to share their ideas, contribute to school life, and build confidence in expressing themselves in meaningful ways.
