Ethos and Aims

We believe that the achievement of academic success and the nurturing of self-confidence and positive attitudes to life and learning lay essential foundations for a child’s future.

Our staff encourage children to achieve highly across a broad spectrum of learning experiences. Creative, artistic, social and sporting activities are promoted right from the start and this ensures that individual talents and abilities are quickly recognised and nurtured.

We have high expectations of our children and expect them to give of their best at all times. Our core values of Aspiration, Attitude and Achievement are central to our ethos, as are our four rights; the right to LEARN, BE HAPPY, BE SAFE and BE THEMSELVES. Children understand it is their responsibility to ensure that their words or actions do not impinge on the rights of others.

The environment at Ashbridge is calm and purposeful, and the children benefit from small classes, significantly enhancing the opportunities for individual success. Peer work and shared activities ensure all the children know each other well and look out for each other. Ashbridge is a happy place to be.

@AshbridgeMaxy: Our overhead canvas is bursting with colours, and has turned into an opportunity to explore positional literacy. "Make it lower she can't reach" "can you make it higher because I am so tall" "jars clings like music" "my paint has sound & swirls" #atelier #eytalking @NDNAtalk https://t.co/YTKrtrNwMV

@MissSeaton: This week our book is Goldilocks and the Three Bears. This afternoon we made porridge but because it was too hot we went for a little walk. When we got back we found Goldilocks eating it! Luckily there was enough left for us to have some- phew! https://t.co/Udf7YSEK56

@AshbridgeMaxy: We experienced painting on an overhead canvas, enjoying the freedom of big, small gross and fine motor movement. Finding out different ways to reach the canvas to make flower inspired stains. #atelier #eytalking @NDNAtalk #eyfstwittertagteam #creativelearning #ArtistOnTwitter https://t.co/0Donahzcpf
